Setelah tidak lagi diuruskan oleh Syed Yusuf Jamalulail, mereka menukar nama kepada Sofea lalu muncul dengan album Kembali (1987).
Pada tahun 1988, Syed Yusuf Jamalulail mengasaskan sebuah kumpulan baru yang juga menggunakan nama SYJ, namun kumpulan itu akhirnya menukar nama kepada Ariwatan dan merakamkan album pada 1989.
Pada tahun 1990, Syed Yusuf Jamalulail sekali lagi mengasaskan sebuah kumpulan baru menggunakan nama SYJ, dan kumpulan terakhir itu telah berjaya merakamkan album dengan menggunakan nama SYJ.
